align="left">Cadillac's 2019 CT6 V-Sport will promise greater performance with a new twin-turbo V8 engine, plus the comforts, amenities and technology of a luxury sedan. It's the first V-Sport variant for the CT6 lineup as well as Cadillac's first use of a twin turbocharged V8 in its history. align="left">Styling tweaks to the CT6 V-Sport feature a large taste of the Cadillac Escala Concept's design on the new model that is expected to arrive in dealerships early next year. And under the hood is a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine cranking out 550 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The big, powerful engine is designed to give Cadillac a play in a space now dominated by German luxury competitors. align="left">“Cadillac V-Sport is the embodiment of our passion to deliver an exhilarating driving experience without compromises,” Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said in a statement. “The all-new CT6 V-Sport provides the perfect balance of performance and luxurious refinement.” align="left">A “hot V” configured engine flips the standard design of cylinder heads" intake and exhaust systems, putting the turbochargers at the top of the engine between the heads, a move Cadillac says nearly eliminates turbo lag. The company also spent time to make the engine packaging as compact as possible. The engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. With a 7.39 gear ratio spread starting performance is boosted, while engine speed is reduced on the highway, helping with efficiency. align="left">All-wheel drive standard align="left">The all-wheel drive CT6 V-Sport also has a sporty appearance with a large, darkened mesh grille and new horizontal LED headlamps but in the recognizable Cadillac shape. The front also features lower aero air intakes, ground effect extensions and gloss black window surround trim. The 2019 Cadillac CT6 V-Sport also features new 20-inch V-Sport wheels complete with summer-only performance tires, while V badging, a rear spoiler and new back lighting round out the appearance package. align="left">Specific V-Sport hardware beyond the engine includes a suspension tuned for “improved roll control, cornering capability and steering response,” plus new 19-inch Brembo high performance brakes. The exhaust features active valves boosting the engine sound and steering has been tweaked for sportier feedback. In addition, the all-wheel drive setup has a revised torque split to improve traction in high speed handling. align="left">The car is also equipped with next-generation wireless charging, second-generation Rear Camera Mirror, Cloud-connected navigation, Surround Vision, plus a suite of active safety features including a new available rear pedestrian detection alert system. align="left">Cadillac also offers V-Sport models on the CTS and XTS sedans. While the concept is not new, the CT6 V-Sport is expected to serve as the first in a series of all-new performance vehicles under GM's luxury brand. Pricing for the 2019 CT6 V-Sport was not disclosed. The 2018 CT6 starts at about $55,000.
