Emma and Matthew loved staying with their Gran and Grandad. They had an old house with lots of rooms to play in.
艾玛和马修喜欢和爷爷奶奶呆在一起。他们的老房子里有许多房间。
But best of all ,Gran and Grandad had a big tree in their garden.
最主要的是，爷爷奶奶的花园里有一棵大树。
One morning, Matthew looked out the window.
一天早上，马修向窗外看。
“It's windy again,”he said to Emma,“and we can't go out and climb the tree.”
他对艾玛说，又刮风了，我们不能出去爬树了。
“It's raining, too,” said Emma.
艾玛说，又下雨了。
“We will have to play inside today.”
我们今天得在室内玩了。
That night, the wind blew very hard.
那天晚上狂风大作。
Emma called out to Matthew.
艾玛对马修说，
“Matthew,” she said. “I'm scared!”
马修，我非常害怕。
Gran and Grandad came in to see them.
爷爷奶奶来看他们。
“It's a very windy night,”said Grandad.
爷爷说，今天的风很大。
“Try to go to sleep.”
快去睡觉。
Then……
之后
They all ran to look out the window.
他们都跑向窗户往外看。
“The big tree had fallen over!” said Gran.
奶奶说，大树倒了。
“Oh,no!” said Matthew.
马修说，不。
“Now we won't have a tree to climb.”
我们现在没有树可爬了。
“We are lucky that it didnit hit the house,” said Grandad.
爷爷说，幸运的是这棵树没有击中房子。
Gran gave them a hug.
奶奶给了他们一个拥抱。
“Go to sleep,” she said.
她说，去睡觉。
“The wind will stop blowing soon. We will have a good look at the tree in the morning.”
一会风就停了。早上我们要好好看看那棵树。
The next morning, they all went out to look at the tree.
第二天早上，他们都去外面看树。
“Oh ,dear,”said Grandad.
爷爷说，哦。
“It was the best tree ever,”said Emma.
艾玛说，这棵树最棒。
“We could climb into the branches and hide there. No one could see us.”
我们可以爬进树枝子中，每人能够看见我们。
“And now I will have to cut it up for firewood,”said Grandad.
爷爷说，我们要把它剪掉生火用。
“Please don't cut it up,Grandad,”cried Matthew.
马修叫嚷到，爷爷不要把它剪掉。
“We could still play on it .”
我们还能用它玩。
“Yes,”said Emma.
艾玛说是的。
“It could be our rocket ship.”
这可以是我们的火箭船。
“We could fly all over the place in it .”said Matthew.
马修说，我们能够用它飞向所有的地方。
“Come on ,Emma.”
艾玛，快来。
Matthew and Emma raced over to the tree and climbed up.
马修和艾玛跑到树边，爬上了树。
“I'm the captain,”said Emma.
艾玛说，我是船长。
“Are you ready for take-off , Matthew?”
你准备起航了吗，马修？
“Ready , Captain!” shouted Matthew.
马修说，准备好了，船长。
“Ready to fire the rockets ….. now!
现在准备点燃火箭。
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1!”

“We have lift-off!”
我们升空了。
Emma shouted back at him.
艾玛回过头向马修叫嚷着。
“Here we go!” “Whoosh!” laughed Gran and Grandad.
我们走了，爷爷奶奶都笑了。
