Readers of a certain age may remember Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's sci-fi puppet shows—"Supercar", "Fireball XL5","Stingray","Thunderbirds" and "Captain Scarlet"—filmed, as the Ander- sons put it, in " SuperMarionation ".
