You should do this even if you are walking or on your bike, because you never know what might happen. And if a teenager needs to make a phone call? Many teenagers nowadays have cell phones, but if you don't have one, keep a phone card or some small change in your pocket so that you can make a call from a public phone. Also,be sure that you know the number to call for emergency services: police,ambulance,and fire department. And one last point: when you go out, take some sort of ID card with you -- something with your name,address, and telephone number on it, so that people can call your parents if something happens to you.
