Bacon is salt-cured meat cut from a pig's belly or back. Ham is pork from a leg cut that has been preserved by wet or dry curing, with or without smoking. A sausage is a type of meat product usually made from ground meat, often pork, beef, or poultry, along with salt, spices and other flavourings. A steak, also sometimes called "beef steak", is a meat generally sliced across the muscle fibers, potentially including a bone. It is normally grilled, though it can also be pan-fried. Steak can also be cooked in sauce, such as in steak and kidney pie, or minced and formed into patties, such as hamburgers. Lamb is from a sheep less than one-year-old. Mutton is the meat of an adult sheep. |
